Video Gong Show Guidelines

Submission guidelines and general statement of philosophy regarding video gong show (heretofor known as VGS), to take place at the Aurora Picture Show July 23^rd.

The creator of video gong show would like to address your inevitable questions before you have a chance to ask.

Q: What kind of videos will you be screening at VGS?
A: We will screen whatever you bring, as long as you've made it. We suppose that you could bring in old movie trailers, episodes of Welcome Back Kotter, or whatever kind of deviant porn that the kids are downloading these days, but we're only going to give prizes to people who put their own work up for humiliation.

Q: What format should my videos be in?
A: (to be filled out be Aurora Picture Show)

Q: Doesn't this just replicate the “test audience”, “entertain at all costs”, “lowest common denominator” bullshit that dominates mainstream corporate culture? Isn't this what we come to the Aurora Picture Show to escape from?
A: (Short): No
A: (Medium): Maybe
A: (Long): We thought it would be fun anyway.

Q: Why should I subject my fragile artist ego and carefully considered art work to such an absurd trivialization?
