Taking inspiration from two Houston curatorial projects, Art of This Century and Arena Productions, and the name from a Pussy Galore song, I opened my first art space in 1997 in the run down house that I was living in at the time. Unbenownst to my ever suffering landlord, during the summer of 1997 I walled off all the windows, moved all my stuff to the back bedroom and invited in the public. Originally conceptualized in a half serious way as a marxist gallery, I also painted the walls bright red.
I did three shows, and then left town to go to Cal Arts.
