Bipolar vs Field Effect Transistors.

 

1) There are two main families of transistors, Bipolar and FET.

2) FETs are more popular, waste less power (therefore run cooler), and are cheaper than bipolar.

3) FETs can be easily damaged by static electricity, so we will be using bipolar.

4) The basic operation of bipolar and fets are the same.
